Quarry Park was restored as part of this programme to repair and reconstruct the Grade II listed parkland.

Improvements included reinstating the surface and edge detailing of Victoria Avenue, and restoring the garden’s notable features, including four listed monuments. The children’s play facilities were updated and the Shropshire Horticultural Society carried out work to renew the shrub borders and other on-going horticultural maintenance.

The programme also focused on directly benefiting the millions of visitors to the park by providing information boards, plaques and leaflets, as well as improving access for disabled people.

The public park was designed and built in 1979 and is included on the English Heritage Register of parks and gardens of special historic interest. The park is home to a number of Grade II listed statues, memorials, gates, railing and fountains.
