Join our Committee for England, Midlands & East

We’re looking for five new committee members to help us create lasting and positive change for people and communities in the Midlands & East.

Current Committee member, Izzy Mohammed, talks about his role and this exciting opportunity for new people to help us inspire, lead and resource heritage in the area.

Who are our committees?

They guide decisions on our grants between £250,000 and £5million and maintain oversight of smaller grants. They also provide advice on our broader work and campaigns, advocate for our work during visits and events, and help us to reach under-served communities.

The role will give you experience in grant-giving and consensual decision-making.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for people who are committed to heritage and enthusiastic about the difference it can make for people and communities.

For these roles, we are especially seeking members with experience in:

  • historic buildings or historic environment
  • museums and archives
  • community heritage engagement, and experience working with diverse audiences
  • place making and regeneration

We encourage applications from people currently under-served on the committee and/or in the heritage sector. We guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum essential criteria. Reasonable adjustments can be discussed and arranged before the interview.
