Economic impact of UK heritage tourism economy, August 2016

This is our latest report on the economic impact of heritage-based tourism in the UK. Produced by Oxford Economics, it’s an update on research last published in 2013. The latest figures show that heritage-based tourism is worth £20.2billion to the UK economy and that overseas visitors to UK cultural, historic and natural heritage attractions spend more than double per visit (an average of £560) compared with their domestic overnight counterparts (an average of £210 per trip).
