Pagans, Saints and Birdmen: Revealing the hidden stories of our landscape together

Applicant: Craigavon Historical Society

Project description: A community archaeology project at Kilmocholmóg including an archaeological dig, community activity programme with talks, tours and workshops and a schools engagement strand.

Decision: Award grant of £47,791 (100% of total project costs)

 

Dom Polski Coming of Age

Applicant: Dom Polski

Project description: A community engagement programme to gather and share stories about migration from Polish and other migrant groups within Northern Ireland and with a particular focus on North Belfast. Work will provide insight into the essence of what "home" and "house" mean across different cultures.

Decision: Reject

 

Realising the potential of the Conflict & Legacy Interpretive Network

Applicant: National Museums and Galleries of Northern Ireland

Project description: The strengthening and consolidation of the work of the Conflict and Legacy Interpretive Network through programming, including events, training, exhibitions and conferences. Also to include developing a shared set of values and ethical principles for museums and heritage organisations dealing with conflict and legacy. 

Decision: Award grant of £203,000 (100% of total project costs)

 

All Ireland Heritage Skills Programme: Consolidating Heritage Skills

Applicant: CITB NI

Project description: A heritage skills programme to upskill eight craftspeople in a variety of skills such as stonemasonry, blacksmithing, joinery and decorative finishing. This will augment the declining supply of skills across the British Isles and will help to mitigate risk of damage or decay to heritage assets caused by inappropriate and delayed works.

Decision: Award grant of £207,072 (59% of total project costs)

 

St Augustine’s Church of Ireland – Sexton’s Cottage – Keystone for Preservation, Accessibility and Sustainability

Applicant: St Augustine’s Church of Ireland, Londonderry (Derry)

Project description: To preserve and renovate the historic Sexton’s Cottage at St Augustine’s Church of Ireland to be used as unique heritage accommodation and contribute to the sustainability of the historic site.

Decision: Award grant of £246,344 (96% of total project costs)

 

Lyric Heritage

Applicant: The Lyric Theatre (NI)

Project description: To preserve, protect, digitise and share the archives of the Lyric Theatre.

Decision: Reject

 

Belleek Village Trail

Applicant: Belleek Development and Heritage Group

Project description: To develop an accessible heritage walking trail of Belleek.

Decision: Reject

 

IWAI N&P Newry Canal Moody’s lock 11 completion project

Applicant: The Inland Waterways Association of Ireland

Project description: To install additional canal lock gates at Moody’s lock 11 Poyntzpass and at McVeigh’s lock 10 Canal Bank Poyntzpass of The Newry-Portadown Canal to support activity and related cultural, educational, recreational and community events in Poyntzpass village.
