Since 1994 we have awarded over £2.1bn of National Lottery and other funding to 12,700 projects in the North.

The birthplace of the industrial revolution, the North of England is buzzing with thousands of years of history.

We're proud to support our communities to protect and celebrate the region’s irreplaceable heritage, from the cityscapes of Manchester to the stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales, the cultural history of Newcastle, through to the Lake District's natural beauty. It’s part of our vision for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future.

Our National Lottery Heritage Grants funding programme is open – if you have an idea for a project in the North of England, we would love to hear from you. Grants are available from £10,000 up to £10m.

The Strong Women project aims to capture the untold stories of women in St Helens and Knowsley and celebrate their contributions through street murals.
