Robert is a chartered accountant and was an audit partner with PwC for 25 years until his retirement in 2014.

Since then, he has been a trustee of Parks for London, a member of the Audit Committee at Oman Tourism Development Company and an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committees at Valuation Office Agency, The National Archives and Marie Curie.

He is currently a trustee of the charity Paintings in Hospitals and an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committees at the Department for Business and Trade and the Canal and River Trust.

Robert is also a school governor and a trustee and chair of a small charitable foundation helping fund learning opportunities for vulnerable children in Lebanon. 

Robert grew up and went to school in Warwickshire, then studied at Trinity College, Oxford, and has lived in South West London for the past 40 years. His interests include modern political history, travel, contemporary art, theatre and opera, and walking.
