Board and committee opportunities

Our board and committees help make decisions on where to invest funds from the National Lottery.

The Board

The Board of The National Heritage Memorial Fund and National Lottery Heritage Fund consists of a chair and up to 14 trustees, appointed by the Prime Minister.

From April 2019 the Board:

  • sets our strategic and policy framework

  • determines our Corporate Strategy and our annual Business Plan

  • makes decisions on NHMF funding, National Lottery Heritage Fund grants over £5million, and our UK-wide strategic campaigns.


Board vacancies are public appointments and will appear on the Cabinet Office website.


We have committees based in:

  • Northern Ireland

  • Scotland

  • Wales

  • England, North

  • England, Midlands and East

  • England, London & South.

The committees make decisions on grants between £100,000 and up to £5m.


There are currently no vacancies for our Committees. However, during 2021 we will be recruiting across our three England Committees and in late 2021/early 2022 we will be recruiting for members for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
