One Young World / Heritage Fund Scholarship

Project description: To provide scholarships for 10 young leaders living and making an impact in Northern Ireland, to participate in the One Young World Summit 2023 as delegates.

Decision: Award grant of £56,550 (100% of total project costs)

The Georgian Times 

Applicant: Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council 

Project description: To explain and bring to life the buildings in Armagh through walking tours and living history characters. 

Decision: Reject


The HEARTH Project 

Applicant: Rural Community Network (NI) 

Project description: To support rural groups and organisations to promote their heritage, develop skills, and share resources and knowledge with each other. 

Decision: Award grant of £198,164 (100%) 


Inspiring Textiles at Castle Espie

Applicant: Inspiring Yarns CIC 

Project description: To explore the migratory patterns of birds to and from the Castle Espie site. Participants will produce a final textile piece to be exhibited alongside interpretive content. 

Decision: Award grant of £99,927 (100%)


20 Years of the Polish Community 

Applicant: For Your Freedom & Ours CIC 

Project description: To look at the lives and contributions of the Polish community who choose to make Northern Ireland their home. 

Decision: Award grant of £128,718 (100%)


St Joseph’s Sailortown: A Beacon for Belfast 

Applicant: Sailortown Regeneration Group 

Project description: To strengthen the capacity and resilience of Sailortown Regeneration Group (SRG) as they prepare to embark on the next phase of a project, which will see the physical repair and regeneration of the former St Joseph’s Church. 

Decision: Award grant of £69,000 (100%) 


Voices from the Sperrins 

Applicant: Glasgowbury 

Project description: To produce an eight-series podcast documenting various aspects of life in the Sperrins. 

Decision: Award grant of £83,720 (100%) 


Milford House – acquisition of 3 Victoria Street Armagh 

Applicant: Milford Buildings Preservation Trust 

Project description: To purchase the B1 listed townhouse, 3 Victoria Street Armagh and continue to house the collection, artworks and stories of Milford House and the McCrum family. 

Decision: Rejected 


Galwally House Building Survey 

Applicant: Galwally & Community Heritage Preservation Trust Ltd 

Project description: To undertake a building survey to identify what works are required to preserve Galwally House, built in 1885.
