The Recipes From Me to You project captured previously unrecorded information about the culinary heritage of Somali families living in the Granby area of Liverpool.

The intergenerational project worked with members of the community. Somali cuisine varies from region to region and is the product of Somalia's tradition of trade and commerce. These recipes are rarely written down on paper as traditionally this information has been related orally.

This project documented recipes by producing a Somali heritage cookbook to ensure the information would not be lost and would be accessible to future generations. The cookbook was launched at an event which involved traditional dance and singing, showcasing further aspects of Somali culture.

The project also engaged the wider community by running a series of food trials at the Granby Street Market, where the public was invited to try recipes from the book and to ask questions about the Somali food on offer.

Granby Somali Women's Group (GSWG) was established in 1994 and provides services to all women, children and families residing in the Princes Park ward of Liverpool.
