Funding went towards research and heritage conservation, as well as the design and production of information boards, leaflets and publicity.

Project plans included installing nine information boards along the trail, documenting the wealth of historical and natural environments. These were designed to help promote and inform the local community of these hidden landscapes on their doorsteps. Each of the boards was to tell the story of each area, illustrated with photographs and facts.

Plans also included the production of a leaflet to publicise the trail and help visitors along their route. Many of the sites are easily accessible and linked by the cycle paths and footpaths around Gosport. The Heritage Trail leaflet was designed to highlight these routes, helping visitors to navigate the trail.
