Durham in Time was a three-year project, which provided the opportunity to archive the vast and diverse records that community groups hold throughout the county.
From rural villages to industrial areas, the project was designed to keep memories and traditions alive.
The project was designed to provide opportunities for community and local history groups across the county to archive the heritage records that they hold.
Participants were engaged in targeted training programmes, learning activity and the development of new community websites, ensuring the historic material was made available online, for future generations to access and enjoy.
The project helped deliver learning opportunities in new technologies, and opportunities for people to learn about their local history, heritage collections, archiving and research.
