Phase I of the conservation of the Painted Hall saw the west wall and upper hall ceiling restored to their former glory.

The project involved conservation works within the Painted Hall; an internship and volunteering programme, to improve heritage conservation skills; and community engagement activities, which focused on learning about the heritage site and the care of these historic buildings.
