The Central Plaza Hotel in Carlisle has been empty for over 10 years. Several years ago scaffolding was erected around the building as a safety measure but this has prevented people from enjoying the historic facade. This start-up project is exploring the possible solutions to repairing the damaged building and assessing the work needed in order to return the building to its former glory.

At the end of the feasibility study the group will be in a position to understand all of the issues involved in the renovation of this hotel. During the project the costs of the renovations will be thoroughly assessed and the specific skills needed to bring about this restoration will be identified.

Two key factors in this project are the opportunity to explore the commercial potential of the renovated building and how any restoration could boost the local economy and tourism. This project will be a major step towards saving this historic building and engaging the public with the hotel's story.
