Jenny Cousins studied history at Balliol College, Oxford and history of film at Birkbeck College, University of London.

She began her career at museum design firm Event Communications and subsequently worked for English Heritage with responsibility for interpretation in London and the south-east of England. Major exhibition projects included Charles Darwin’s home, Down House, Lullingstone Roman Villa and the garden interpretation at Chiswick House.

Working for Imperial War Museums (IWM), Jenny led the five-year redevelopment of the American Air Museum at IWM Duxford, and the creation of the American Air Museum in Britain website, which is dedicated to crowdsourcing information about the air war.

Jenny is currently director of the Museum of East Anglian Life.

As well as London’s history, her particular interests include oral history, lifelong learning and the history of cinema.
