Working Together Better - Heritage Exchange Cymru 2014
How can the heritage and cultural sectors make a real difference for the people and communities of Wales?
The event will be an opportunity for colleagues and partners from across the Welsh heritage and cultural sector to exchange ideas on themes and questions which matter most now. And to ask How can the heritage and cultural sectors make a real difference for the people and communities of Wales?
At a time of continued financial uncertainty and constraint and with economic and social agendas featuring large on the heritage landscape, this event will enable the sector to consider priorities in Wales, and how best to meet them. With an emphasis on finding pragmatic solutions to deliver aspirations in challenging times, the event will bring together heritage and community professionals to exchange ideas, to challenge, provoke and inspire.
This event is part of a UK-wide programme of engagement in which the Heritage Lottery Fund – with 20 years of investment learning behind it – is championing the resilience and sustainability of heritage, helping to develop new practice, to survive and thrive and to learn from each other.
Speakers at the event will include:
Huw Brodie, Director of Culture and Sport, Welsh Government
Dr Manon Antoniazzi, Trustee and Chair to the Heritage Lottery Fund for Wales
Karen Dusgate, Chief Executive Merthyr Housing Association
Katie-Jo Luxton, Director of RSPB Cymru
John McGrath, Artistic Director National Theatre Wales
Lee Waters, Director of the Institute of Welsh Affairs
