Join our Committee and help shape Scotland's heritage future
Since 1994, HLF has invested over £506 million in Scotland’s heritage through nearly 3,000 projects, with awards ranging from hundreds to several million pounds.
The Committee makes decisions on grants between £50,000 and £1 million. Recent awards include support for projects such as Knockando Wool Mill on Speyside and Perthshire Big Tree Country, as well as development grants for the derelict St Margaret’s Church Oatlands in Glasgow’s East End. The Committee also provides a crucial country perspective to the HLF Board on grant requests over £1million and on the funding priorities for Scotland. Previous awards include the Riverside Museum in Glasgow, and the Royal Museum in Edinburgh.
Members meet people involved in heritage projects, represent HLF at openings and events and act as an advocate for the value of heritage to modern life in Scotland.
We are now seeking to appoint two Committee Members.
We welcome interest from people with a range of backgrounds and experiences who can demonstrate they can apply their skills to, and have enthusiasm for, the role. Applications are particularly welcome from individuals with knowledge of historic buildings, the natural environment or the youth, community and voluntary sectors. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate an affinity for Scotland’s diverse heritage.
If you would like more information email decisionmakers@hlf.org.uk and we will email the application materials.
