A £3.6million National Lottery investment plus £1.1m from Harrow Council has given the site, which dates back to 825AD and was once owned by Henry VIII, a new lease of life.  The Grade I listed Manor House and 16th-century Great Barn and grounds have been transformed into a museum with a dedicated learning centre and the content has been developed thanks to a group of committed volunteers and members from the local community. 

Its collections include items from the Kodak factory and Whitefriar’s glass factory and archaeological finds from the Roman period.

Free fun at Frost Fayre

To mark the opening, the museum will be hosting a free Frost Fair on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 December.  It will feature artisan market stalls which will be held inside the Great Barn, demonstrations and workshops in Roman pottery from Ancient Pottery Technology Specialist, Graham Taylor, children’s entertainment, seasonal food and live performances from Harrow Youth Brass Band.
