She has gained practical experience across the museum and heritage sectors through roles in community archaeology, visitor engagement and research-focused placements in Northern Ireland.
Her experience includes working on the Community Archaeology Programme NI, supporting public participation in archaeological projects and educating people about archaeological practices and their importance in schools across Northern Ireland. Additionally, Lara’s experience in the museum sector, both as a tour guide at HMS Caroline and through projects with the Northern Ireland Museums Council, has engaged diverse audiences and contributed to the interpretation of heritage and a deeper understanding of its importance.
Her interests centre on how heritage is cared for, interpreted and made accessible, with emphasis on inclusivity for all. She is passionate about the social value of heritage and is strongly committed to inclusive, thoughtful and evidence-based approaches to caring for and presenting heritage to communities.
