She has experience delivering community engagement projects, specialising in the conservation of UK insect pollinators, in the Midlands, North and South East of England. She is passionate about improving access and inclusion to nature and heritage.
Most recently, Carolyn led project delivery on the Bee Inspired Walsall project, which was run by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust with a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project focused on volunteer recruitment and engagement with diverse, underserved communities in the West Midlands. Carolyn has worked for and volunteered with a range of organisations, including Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, developing skills in ecological research, science communication, volunteer coordination, event management and project evaluation.
