Shame Parade: Exploring Charivari Heritage

Applicant: Icky Arts C.I.C.

Project Description: This project aims to fill the gap in research on Charivari in Scotland and support LGBTQ+ participation in the heritage sector.  With support from Historic Environment Scotland and Edinburgh Museums & Galleries, Icky Arts will undertake historical research on Charivari practice before producing artistic responses to the heritage and developing an immersive touring exhibition alongside public engagement.

Project Description: This project aims to preserve Scottish Music Information Centre’s (SMC) archive as well as making it more accessible to the public to improve engagement with the collection.

Project Description: This project aims to foster a sense of inclusion, community and pride in Scotland’s heritage among vulnerable people who have experienced trauma, poverty and adversity. By engaging people in activities at significant heritage sites, the project seeks to strengthen their connection to Scotland’s rich historical, cultural and environmental legacy.

Project Description: This project seeks to appoint an arboriculturist to survey the trees, assess health status and risks, create a schedule of required remedial works and make recommendations on the future management of Victoria Park, underpinning the future of the trees in this historically important park.

Project Description: This project aims to fund urgent emergency remedial work on the walls of the 18th century corn mill in Bunessan, Isle of Mull, so that the structure is secure and safe for visitors to enter.

Harry Hornby's Paisley: Capturing Vanished Histories

Project Description: This project aims to preserve and share the rich, often overlooked history of Paisley’s changing urban landscape. By digitising the Hornby photographic archive and collecting oral histories from older residents, the project seeks to connect visual records with lived experiences, creating a more complete, community-driven account of the town’s past.

Project Description: This project aims to support the acquisition of The Field, a 27-acre area of land within Kinlochard Village, as well as enabling the restoration of the biodiversity of the site with native broadleaf trees.

Project Description: This project aims to focus on the conservation of artworks that are currently in storage, enabling them to be put on display around Scotland for those in health and social care settings to engage with.

Project Description: This project aims to increase awareness of the Skaill and Swandro dig sites and deliver events to complement summer excavations for the improvement of visitors’ and locals’ understanding of their importance and the time periods they cover.

Project Description: This project seeks to empower unprecedented access to at-risk queer cultural heritage and reanimate LGBTQ+ archives around the UK, engaging the public in social reflection, providing them with tools to record their own experience.

Project Description: This project aims to develop the framework for a cross-sector approach to corporate and individual philanthropic partnership fundraising.
