The Pontypool Townscape Heritage Initiative is contributing to Torfaen County Borough Council’s regeneration strategy and vision for Pontypool town centre.

The historic commercial core of the once flourishing town of Bridgend is to be further conserved and redeveloped as part of an ongoing initiative to drive forward economic and social regeneration.

Bedford High Street is in a designated conservation area, but before our grant for the restoration of some of its historic buildings, it was looking shabby and unloved.

Through a combination of funding from Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Worcestershire County Council, Bromsgrove District Council is enabling a range of repairs and conservation works to regain Bromsgrove's historic character.

Quarry Park was restored as part of this programme to repair and reconstruct the Grade II listed parkland.

This project, at Pontypool Museum, was to conserve the historic museum building and ensure that it is set up to permanently house and display collections.

The project involved changing the previous categorisation of displays at Cartwright Hall from culture, chronology and medium, to the three key themes of People, Place and Imagination. This was to allow a mixture of objects from Europe and Asia, which reflect the common heritage of the people of

First World War LGBT project looking at the lives of women working on stage in male roles.

The L8 Untold Project will engage volunteers in uncovering and recording hidden histories of Britain’s oldest Black community.
