Young people explored the heritage of boxing in London's East End, including the social impact on the local community and its relationship to gangs and crime, ethnic identity and the entertainment scene.
The young people made short films with scripted dramatisations of historical stories, music videos using archive footage and classical music fusions, and documentaries featuring oral history interviews.
Peer mentors from Factory East and Xlternative Productions, as well as artists and youth workers supported the participants at various points. They provided a pastoral network for the young people when they were struggling with aspects of the project and provided opportunities for learning from a range of professionals.
