This 18-month project focused on informing and educating about the importance of pollinators.

It was led by the Snowdonia Society with the support of the National Beekeeping Centre for Wales. Tŷ Hyll translates into Ugly House and has many legends associated with it. It is firmly established in the history and culture of Wales and is probably one of the best recognised buildings in the country.

Volunteers gave the building a new lease of life by planting up the garden with wildflowers, installing bee hives and providing opportunities for people to learn about these and other important pollinating insects. By making the site more accessible and providing multiple avenues for learning, such as the official Ty Hyll website and leaflets, more people have been able to get close to nature and get a better understanding of why these insects are so vital to us and our future.
