Description: To engage MECC communities of Edinburgh & Lothians with Scottish natural heritage, linking biodiversity and environmental conservation to participants' lives and experiences.

The Cateran Ecomuseum's 'Museum of Rapid Transition' Programme

Applicant: The Cateran Ecomuseum Limited

Description: To use heritage sites in the Cateran Ecomuseum to inspire climate action amongst local communities. Building on a pilot project from 2021, it aims to deliver seven activity streams in different areas of the Ecomuseum.

Decision: Award grant of £166,031 (73% of total costs)

Gather, share, enjoy – exploring Nairn's heritage through stories

Applicant: The Highland Council

Description: To make local people and visitors more aware of Nairn's special heritage as a holiday resort and Moray Firth fishing community, by creating new interpretation in partnership with the local community.

Dumbreck Local Nature Reserve bringing life to heritage

Description: This multifaceted project aims to build on recent conservation and pathing work at Dumbreck Local Nature Reserve by interpreting local heritage and establishing a volunteer-led management plan for the future.

Trimontium: Heritage and Landscape Observatory

Applicant: Trimontium Trust SCIO

Description: A two and a half year project to make Trimontium Museum financially sustainable by increasing and diversifying its income streams through the development of a range of activities aimed at tourists, visitors and schools.

Description: To refurbish the Turriff Silver Band practice hall in Turriff Aberdeenshire.

Place Names in Kilfinan Parish

Applicant: Tighnabruaich District Development Trust

Description: A Heritage group and Gaelic group working together to produce leaflets and a permanent display of the history and meaning of the place names in the parish – many of these are Gaelic, as well as Norse and English in origin.

Decision: Award grant of £3,465 (70% of total costs)

125th Anniversary or Irvine Meadow

Applicant: Irvine Meadow Community Club

Description: To tell the Irvine Meadow story and its 125 years to date (1897–2022) in five short films each spanning 25 years.

Decision: Award grant of £10,000 (100% of total costs)

Mapping oral histories and digitised ephemera of jazz in Scotland

Applicant: Scottish Jazz Archive (SCIO)

Description: To collect oral histories and digitise physical materials relating to the history of jazz in Scotland, making them accessible through a redeveloped website.
