Birmingham's Erratic Boulders: Heritage of the Ice Age

Applicant: Herefordshire and Worcestershire Earth Heritage Trust

Project description: Engage people with Ice Age ‘erractic’ boulders in Birmingham and north Worcestershire. They will undertake recording of the boulders and put arrangements in place for the future care of the sites where the boulders are.

Decision: Award £112,900 (95%)


Hands on History

Applicant: Creative Futures Midlands

Project description: Deliver 12 heritage pre-industrial craft workshops to young people in Corby, Market Harborough. These will be run by local craftspeople over the course of the project.

Decision: Award £40,300 (100%)


A History of Alternative Medicines in Birmingham

Applicant: Communities Engage and Thrive CIC

Project description: Work with adults from Birmingham city centre to explore and share the heritage of traditional medicines used by the city’s diverse communities.

Decision: Award £9,500 (100%)


Delivering Windrush and Black History related activities through fashion and music within the local community

Applicant: Fashion, Talent & Black History C.I.C

Project description: Based in Dudley, will provide fashion, music, talks and drama based interpretive events which explore the history of communities of Caribbean heritage in the UK.

Decision: Award £4,252 (100%)


Celebration of Cattle Market & East Croft area, past and present.

Applicant: Cattle Market & East Croft Heritage Group

Project description: Research and explore the history of Nottingham’s Cattle Market area, providing creative activities and skills development for local young people.

Decision: Award £46,700 (100%)


Great Meeting Chapel: historic inner city gem restored and revealed.

Applicant: Great Meeting (Endowment Fund) Charity

Project description: Deliver restoration of a Grade II listed chapel in Leicester city centre’s Churchgate Conservation Area, improve facilities and access to adjoining green space, and provide a scheme of activities to engage local residents and visitors.

Decision: Award £78,700 (79%)


Wilford Hidden Heritage Project - A Community Through Time

Applicant: Wilford Community Group

Project description: Based in Wilford, Nottingham, will increase awareness of local community heritage through a trail, recording of residents’ oral histories and delivery of a one-day history festival.

Project description: Offer heritage experiences to people living with Bipolar Disorder helping them become more involved with heritage through visits to a number of Nottingham’s heritage sites.

Applicant: Alrewas Artes Festival Archive

Project description: Record the memories of residents of Alrewas, Burton-On-Trent, focusing on changes within the community over the past 20 years.

Decision: Award £6,900 (100%)


Heritage craft skills: Introducing and Engaging New Audiences.

Applicant: Wild Roots Creative CIC

Project description: Deliver heritage crafts workshops at events and courses in person and online. The project will aim to pass on endangered heritage craft skills identified on the Heritage Crafts Association's red list, to diverse and younger age groups.
