This project, delivered by Re-Dock in partnership with Homotopia, Liverpool Records Office and National Museums Liverpool aimed to secure and make public the work of filmmaker Sandi Hughes through a series of screenings, public events and exhibitions.

Sandi began documenting her life in Liverpool in the early 1980s. Realising the importance of what was happening in the city at the time, the films feature cultural and political activism activities and shows how this intersected with the general sub culture of Liverpool at the time, such as music and dance.

The archive is a rare example of diverse ethnic and LGBTQ+ community culture, which was in danger of being lost without proper curation or preservation. The archive consists of 2,500 photos and 300 videos, which up until the start of this project were stored in a back room in Sandi's flat.
