The Grade II* listed seaside winter gardens are identified as one of the Victorian Society's ten most 'endangered' buildings and currently sit on Historic England's Buildings at Risk Register. 

Transforming the People’s Palace

This iron and glass structure will be restored to its former glory as a People’s Palace on Great Yarmouth’s seafront. With beautiful gardens, galleries, and café and restaurant areas, it will offer both entertainment and education, bringing new life to the heart of the town.

The gardens of the free-entry, year-round attraction will centre on planting that is resonant of Great Yarmouth's historic global trading links.

It is a nationally-important heritage gem, worthy of such significant national funding.

Commitment to sustainability

Long term sustainability and community outcomes will benefit both the local community and wider region:

• a carbon neutral tourist attraction
• the provision of more than 90 jobs
• creative events programmes including drop-in activities for community groups

Overall it will reflect the heritage of the building as a place of celebration, enjoyment, wellbeing and relaxation for all.
