Perdita is a trained arts administrator. She has worked in senior positions at the Arts Council, HLF and WWF-UK. Prior to this she worked as Theatre Projects Co-ordinator at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff, Marketing and Development Director at the Aldeburgh Foundation in Suffolk and Press Advisor to Suffolk Crafts Society. As Director of the Watts Gallery, Perdita led the Hope Restoration Project to save the future of Watts Gallery and its collection, and the acquisition and restoration of the Watts house and studio in order to re-establish the Artists’ Village in Compton. Perdita Hunt was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Surrey for her contribution to the arts.
Perdita loves heritage because it reminds us of who we are, where we come from and what is important! She feels it is a privilege to be involved in bringing our history back to life and in giving it a new purpose and impact by enabling current generations to engage with, enjoy and learn from our past.
