Evelyn retired as Chief Executive of South West Lakes Trust, (the South West region’s largest combined environmental and recreational charity) and Wheal Martyn Trust in July 2015.

She remains a non-executive Director of Wheal Martyn Enterprises which generates income for Europe's only china clay museum.

A member of the Institute of Directors and of the Tourism Management Institute, she chaired Exmoor Tourism until March 2016.  Equally involved in environmental issues, in March 2016 she was appointed as a Secretary of State member of Exmoor National Park Authority, having earlier held voluntary roles with Exmoor National Park Authority, South West Forest Project and the Environment Agency. Evelyn also assists Devon and Cornwall Police as an Independent Person in misconduct matters. She lives in South Devon and enjoys restoring antiques, gardening and running.
