Claire Madge is a museum consultant, volunteer and blogger who works to improve inclusion across the sector.

She spent 10 years as a researcher at the Financial Times and London School of Economics before taking a career break when her daughter received an autism diagnosis. In 2012 she began volunteering at her local authority museum which led on to a collection care volunteer role at the Museum of London.

Claire has a degree in History and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies. She currently sits on the Access User Group at the Globe Theatre and worked with the Horniman Museum Access Advisory Group for over four years helping to make their exhibitions and spaces more accessible.

She has written over 200 blogs on museums, exhibitions and accessible programming, spending a year as Blogger in Residence at the RAF Museum in London for their First World War in the Air gallery.

In 2017 Claire received the Museum of London Volunteer of the Year Award and the London Volunteering In Museums Award for 'Going the Extra Mile' for her work across the sector raising awareness of autism access in museums.
