Let me introduce myself. I’m Lizzy and I’ve been managing the Belfast Hills Landscape Partnership Scheme for the past 6 years. We have almost completed our scheme and are planning to have a conference on the 14th and 15th March 2018 at Belfast Castle, Northern Ireland. We are getting in touch with everyone who has been involved in HLF Landscape Partnership Schemes to invite them to come along and get involved.
The first day of the conference will be a bit of a celebration of all the work undertaken, while on the second day I’m really hoping to have an interactive day of learning and sharing aimed specifically at people who are delivering projects or have finished their delivery and have lessons to share.
I was thinking of having discussion groups on:
- Monitoring and evaluating your scheme
- Public engagement in your scheme
- Building partnerships
- Developing a legacy
Then field trips on:
- Running a successful volunteering programme
- Path building
- Working with schools and communities
Are there any other topics you would be interested in covering? I’m hoping that these discussion sessions and field trips are informal and interactive with lots of people feeding in their ideas, so we decided to start by asking for your input!
Once we build up a better picture of what people are interested in we will finalise the conference agenda and send out the invites. Please let me know if you wish to be added to the conference mailing list.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

I found last year really useful and would be keen to attend. At Dearne Valley we had a good mix of schemes and experience which was great as there was lots of shared learning. Having HLF there was also useful as it is apparant that there is so much variance in guidance across the UK. But we need to keep it LPS led with HLF invited.
I would like to see workshops on 'life beyond LPS funding' i.e. sustainability plans; management and maintenance; added value - projects / networks outside of the LPS and why they are important.
Looking foward to it!
Are there any hotels you can recommend? Is city centre best?
