Richard has worked with The National Lottery Heritage Fund in a variety of roles since 2002. He began his career working in the construction materials industry, which included working on the construction of the Channel Tunnel.
With BA Hons degrees in Economics and in Rural Resource Management, Richard also brings with him a deep interest in heritage in its wider context. He has a particular interest in natural heritage and helping people learn more about the history of the natural environment and how to conserve it for future generations.
In addition to his work with The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Richard has worked for a number of other bodies, including Cornwall Council, the National Trust and English Nature, where he was responsible for a £3.5million landscape restoration project in mid Cornwall. This provided him with first-hand experience of managing and delivering a grant funded project.
