Over the last two decades, Izzy has worked within local authority, museum and archives contexts. He has focused especially on community heritage and history; engagement, education and learning; skills and training; and sector development.
He has supported a wide range of communities and organisations, from his work as a practitioner to positions on sector-related boards including the Group for Education in Museums (GEM) and the South Asian Diaspora Arts Archive (SADAA).
He continues his work as a heritage practitioner, historian and educator.
He has an MA in Museums Studies from the University of Leicester, 2001/2, and is currently undertaking postgraduate studies at the University of Birmingham.
