Applicant: The Venture Trust

Description: This 1.5-year project will seek to engage people from under-served backgrounds with heritage and landscapes as a means to support personal development and wellbeing. The project will focus on engaging people in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Deeking to Jan Revised and Resubmitted

Applicant: The Conservation Volunteers Scotland

Description: This 1.5-year project will engage 24 Gypsy/Traveller young people from the Falkirk area in outdoor natural and cultural heritage-based learning.  The young people will take part in activities three days a week, with two of the days being delivered by TCV and the other being led by Article 12.

Decision: Award Grant of £103,986 (100%)

Get Sett Scotland!

Applicant: Scottish Badgers (SCIO)

Description: To complete a nationwide survey of badger populations in Scotland over three years. Taking a citizen science approach, the survey programme will be led by an extensive volunteer network alongside opportunities for training and community engagement.

Path to Victory – Battle and Tapestry Museum Exhibition and Educational Programme from Prestonpans Town Hall 2022–2024

Applicant: Battle of Prestonpans (1745) Heritage Trust.

Description: To bring Prestonpans Town Hall back into use as a museum and exhibition space. It will feature interpretation and artefacts relating to the Battle of Prestonpans and display the Prestonpans tapestry.

Description: This 15-month project aims to capture oral histories and archives relating to Forres Town Hall and the social history and impact of the building prior to regeneration and restoration works.

Applicant: Scottish Council on Archives

Description: Scottish Council on Archives will engage official, community, and diverse archives to populate Your Scottish Archive, an online portal for Scottish archives.

Applicant: The United Borderlands Historic Trust

Description: This 12-month project aims to record ancient paths and other heritage in the region of Teviotdale in the Scottish Borders, which has become a UNESCO world heritage site, using drone footage.

Oban International Shanty Festival 2022

Applicant: Traditional Music and Song Association

Description: This project aims to organise and host a unique festival experience through a series of workshops, concerts, storytelling and potentially photographic exhibitions. It will educate participants in the art of sea shanty singing and the rich heritage of sea-life and sea-work linked with the Scottish fishing town of Oban. Decision: Award Grant of £3,000 (100%)

Cormonachan Community Woodlands Heritage Paths Project

Applicant: Cormonachan Community Woodlands Ltd

Description: To increase physical access to the Cormonachan Woodlands, and a medieval heritage site and waterfall found there, through the creation of new pathways and a car park.
