Applicant: Clanabogan Church of Ireland 

Project description: Carry out internal repairs to the interior of the chancel.

The Joyce – Infrastructure for Visitor Experience 

Applicant: Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council 

Project description: ‘The Joyce’ operated on Lough Neagh from 1943 as a Torpedo Retrieval Boat. Provide security infrastructure and visitor interpretation.

Decision: Reject 

 

Our Stories – Our Times Project 

Applicant: British Red Cross Society (BRCS)

Project description: Gather oral histories of the contribution made by BRCS volunteers to Northern Ireland. 

Decision: Award Grant £94,615 (100%) 

 

Stories of an estate – an exploration of the social heritage and the associated stories with Twinbrook 

Applicant: Scoil Na Fuiseoige Creche and Parent Centre 

Project description: A community-based project to explore and promote the social and cultural heritage of the Twinbrook estate, Belfast. 

Decision: Award Grant £49,098 (100%) 

 

Memories of Maghera 

Applicant: MHS Heritage & Culture Ltd 

Project description: Record and share three elements of the area's history: the Old Church of St Lurach as the historic heart of the town; an overview of emigration from the area with particular reference to the Great Famine and the Emigrants' Cairn; the memories and experiences of people who worked in the Linen Mills at Upperlands. 

Decision: Award Grant £55,809 (100%) 

 

Summer 2022 Maritime Heritage Project 

Applicant: Silvery Light Sailing (SLS)

Project description: acquire Sail Training Vessel Leader, an 80ft long decked wooden vessel built in 1892. Deliver a year-long programme of activities, including a maritime heritage experience of living on and sailing a Victorian era sailing ship aimed at under-served communities, boat maintenance and restoration practice, day sails, residential voyages, maritime festivals and open days. 

Decision:  Award Grant £244,975 (97%)
