Let us know which National Lottery-funded projects deserve special recognition at the National Lottery Awards.

Have you been inspired by a truly outstanding project that has received a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund?

Did the project:

  • transform heritage
  • have a hugely beneficial impact on the surrounding community
  • make life better for the people who have taken part?

If so, you can help to recognise its success by nominating it for a National Lottery Award!

Oscars of the National Lottery world

The annual National Lottery Awards are the Oscars of the National Lottery world. They recognise the huge range of good causes - including heritage - helped by money raised by National Lottery players every year.

Winners gain national recognition for their fantastic work along with a £10,000 cash prize. They will be announced on a BBC programme in November.

2019 is a particularly special year because the National Lottery is 25 years old.

This 25th birthday milestone has inspired the National Lottery Awards to look back at the extraordinary difference National Lottery-funded good causes have made to the UK over 25 years.

Any project that has received National Lottery funding during that time can be nominated.

Heritage heroes

Thousands of heritage projects have shared £8.2billion from The National Lottery Heritage Fund since 1994.

These projects have supported buildings and monuments, nature and wildlife, culture and memories, museums, galleries, libraries and archives and industrial, maritime and transport heritage.

Can you name one that has achieved outstanding success and made a lasting difference?

Perhaps you have been inspired by a project that has explored, recorded and revealed community heritage or saved oral histories that were at risk of being lost?

Or do you know about a project that has been fantastic for improving mental and physical health, increasing wellbeing or opening heritage up to a wider range of people?

Whatever you choose, remember to say why it is outstanding.

You can submit your nominations and see previous winners on the National Lottery Awards website.

Nominations close on 30 April.
